感冒了,鼻子好塞,頭很暈...

I was in Baltimore for a conference for the past 5 days. Yes, ACSM annual meeting. The conference is over but I decided to stay around DC for 2 more days to visit old friends. Photos will be up later. :)
There is a thunderstorm began lunch time and I'm waiting for my previous roommate in her apartment's lobby now. She is on the air. Her flight from Germany is delayed and don't know what time she will be back. Thank God her apartment offers free computers and internet access. Heheh. Well, it would be wonderful if they could also offered with a Chinese keyboard. Am I asking too much? :P
Nothing fun to do outdoors especially the weather is not comfy. That's why I'm here groaning on my blog.
Mixed and complicated feelings about coming back to DC area -- another reason that I'm murmuring here...
When my plane landed in Baltimore airport, I was sleepy (not surprising) because of the early flight; when I walked out of the main gate, I noticed that I was looking for a familiar figure who used to waving to me. Nope! There was no one waving at the gate this time. So, I have to keep walking with strangers along the walkway toward baggage claim area, then followed the sign to take light rail myself.
"Single trip. Student. Your total is $1.10". The ticket machine said so, with a cold tone. A black lady broke into the line before I finished my ticketing process. I started hating Baltimore!
The conference was good -- ACSM annual meeting can't go too bad. Got chances to meet old and new friends, including Prof. JJ Chen from Taiwan! I signed up for the 5K run on Friday morning. The run was supposed to start at 6:30am in a park > 2 miles away from the convention center, but, for some reason, it didn't start until 7am. So, it ends up that I finished the 5K at 7:30-ish and had to walk back to the convention center for my advisor's talk starting at 8am.
My original plan was taking a shower before I went to my advisor' talk. I knew that my advisor would introduce his grad students to some big guys in our field. I don't think it's a good idea to impress those big guys by sticky smells and sweating running shirts/shorts. However, unfortunately, I did show up with my smelly shirt/shorts/shoes in the presenting room. The damn 5K run didn't arrange enough buses to give everyone a ride back to the convention center after the run. So, it ended up that most of us had to walk back to the conference after the 5K run. That was so lame! By the time I got there, my advisor' talk was finished already! GREAT...
Looking forward to the vacation in DC and NYC now.... :)
